This is 187% of Will Foster during an adventure with Ben Schuyler to the coast of Washington this weekend. During the drive out, we decided to pull over and take some shots at a beautiful lake we were passing by. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud to be seen. I had a mini tripod in the car, but after walking around for a few minutes without it, I decided to try my luck on a few extended exposure shots using rocks to prop up my phone along the bank of the lake. I remember hearing laughter from behind and turning around to see what was going on. When I looked back at my phone it was 2 feet and 10 seconds deep in that beautiful clear lake water. Face down. My heart sank instantly. We weren’t even to our real destination yet! My mind began to mourn all the photos that could have been. I reached into the water and pulled it out as quickly as possible. To my great surprise it was still on… and still busy taking photos! After wiping it off, everything appeared fine. This photo was taken a few hours later.
Beyond grateful for second chances when life sees fit to deal them. I think they happen way more often than we are able to recognize. #northwestisbest
